Frozen Shoulder

  • In an elderly person, any of the four muscles attached to the greater tubercle of the humerus can be injured, especially during the winter. This condition is called frozen shoulder.
  • Frozen shoulder affects the four muscles, depending on the tenderness.
  • When afflicted with this, the patient is afraid to move the shoulder, so they don't move it.
  • Treatment may include injection of steroids or the use of physiotherapy.
  • Therapy or treatment for 8-10 days will lessen the pain.
  • If the muscle is totally torn, you have to tone up the muscle again through exercise.
